The NSAI - Atlanta North Regional Workshop holds monthly meetings, usually on the first Tuesday of every month, from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Sometimes the dates or room number fluctuate, so always check the website before planning to come to a meeting.
We usually meet in Conference Room B at the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center (a/k/a the Courthouse), which is located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. To get to the Courthouse from most of northern Atlanta, take I-85 to Highway 316 East, then take the Highway 120 exit to the right. Go a couple of miles until you get to a light at Langley Drive, past the Burger King and Phoenix High School. Turn right onto Langley Drive, go straight at the intersection with Highway 29, and the courthouse is right there about 1/4 mile down. From Atlanta, it may be easier to drive down Highway 29 all the way out to Lawrenceville, turn right on Langley Drive and there you are! Be prepared to go through security at the courthouse, so leave any pocket knives and such at home.
In the event we have to move to a different room due to scheduling, there will be a sign, but all of the conference rooms in the courthouse are located on the same hallway on the second floor.
REGULAR MEETING INFORMATION:
Monthly meetings include a songwriting lesson, and song critiques. Attendance is free for NSAI members. Non-NSAI members may attend up to 2 meetings per year at no charge, after which you must either join NSAI or pay a per-meeting non-member fee of $15.00. This allows you to take advantage of the regional workshop including song critiques, but not national NSAI benefits. To learn more about joining NSAI, click here.
If you wish to have a song critiqued, please bring a copy on CD or cassette, or an instrument if you wish to play live, along with 15-20 copies of your lyric sheet, which will be used by the class for constructive critique and then returned to you. Critiques will be made as time allows, in order of submission at the meeting.
Sometimes unforeseen events require a change in meeting date, or even location. Check the MySpace prior to leaving for a meeting, or contact egm@tunelawyer.com, to confirm that a particular meeting will be taking place.
